In no particular order, here are some updates for you:
We have heard back from some orchestra members who are not comfortable being in the building at this time. We will move forward with the performance tracks we used for dress rehearsals.
The current plan is to maintain our performance schedule of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and to add next Friday in as a make up performance for Thursday. Each cast originally scheduled to perform that night will keep that night--of course accounting for those who are understudying. For all of those roles double-cast, please be in regular contact with your counterpart about your ability to perform.
Some of the below information is from an email I went a parent earlier. I thought it might be helpful for you all to hear:
"To be clear, it was with an abundance of caution that I postponed last night's show. Many felt it would be ok to move forward, but my gut said to wait a night. Currently 5 cast members have tested positive for Covid and are quarantining. We now have people to fill those roles and those cast members have had a day to digest this and prepare. At our company meeting yesterday I mentioned that our audience base has been notified that masks are encouraged, though not required. The same goes for company members: they have been encouraged to wear their masks when not on stage, and they have been encouraged to do what they feel is safe, including wearing a mask during the performance. We will have three air filters running in the theatre during the show and, if needed, will leave the auditorium doors open during the show, even though that will make some of the lighting problematic.
I asked about being able to test the cast and I am not able to require it. I did ask about tests being made available to anyone who wants one, but that is still undecided. Please let me know if you have other questions asap. Thanks much."
I'll do my best to keep you all updated.
